The basic components of an air washer system are a chamber that contain a series of spray nozzles, an eliminator section that removes water from the air that is exiting the air washer and a sump which catches both the sprayed water droplets and the water that was collected by the eliminators. The spray section will either add moisture to the air or dehumidify the air, while washing solid particles out of the air. The eliminator section in many cases is a "W" or a series of "W"s in shape. This section, forces the air to contact the eliminator components, which in turn knocks down water droplets and air borne solids. The sump is the collection basin for the system. The washed out solids, lint, dust, and water all collect in this area.

Moisture, either liquid or vapor, is present in compressed air as it exits the compressor system. If this moisture is not properly removed, your compressed air system can lose efficiency and require dramatically increased maintenance, which can result in costly downtime.The majority of pneumatic instruments and processes can not tolerate hot compressed air, compressors are normally supplied with after-coolers and moisture separators. After-coolers are heat exchangers that utilize either water or ambient air to cool the compressed air. As the water and lubricant vapors within the compressed air cool, a significant amount condenses into liquid. An after-cooler discharging compressed air at 100F passes 67 gallons of water per 1,000 scfm per 24 hours.To avoid these problems, compressed air systems have purification devices available to remove the water vapor and other contaminants. The proper selection of these devices is critical as pneumatic applications and compressed air systems become increasingly sophisticated.

The Heatless dryers are ideal for low flow air Drying operations. Dryer operation is fully automatic and outlet dew points as low as (-40°C) can be achieved. Heatless regeneration desiccant dryer is designed to protect Pneumatic equipment, controls and processes, from the harmful and costly effects of moisture in compressed air and natural gas lines. Regenerative desiccant dryers operate on the principle of pressure swing adsorption, where a fraction of dry air or gas is used to regenerate the off-stream tower. No heat or exhaust power is required for desiccant bed regeneration. In natural gas applications, purge exhaust can be diverted to compressor suction or used as fuel. This means wet air is vented without requirement of separate drain or electrical power.
