This is basically A heat transfer equipment to heat air prior to entering in the furnace with a primary object to increase thermal efficiency of hot flue gases are passed through the tubes and air outside the tubes. The heat of the boiler flue gas is recovered in APH to increase the air temperature & the thermal efficiency is increased. Another advantage is that the flue gas is sent to chimney stack at lower temperature allowing simplified design of ducting & flue gas stack. It also allow controls the temperature of flue gas leaving the stack to meet emissions regulation pollution control.

The flue gases pass through the main combustion chamber Connected through flue tubes, arranged to give three pass; while the air is forced over the combustion chamber and flue tubes thus delivering clear uncontaminated hot air. Indirect Air Heaters are fitted with a high efficiency fully automatic pressure jet burner for complete combustion. The pre wired control panel incorporates electronic safety and monitoring devices such as temperature controller, sequence controller with flame sensor, fuses, contactors, over current relays etc. Indirect Air Heaters will deliver clear uncontaminated hot air. This will avoid the use of any intermediary heating media such as steam, hot water or thermic fluid. This will eliminate heat exchanger, control valves and consequently the blems associated with these media.
