Embossing process is done with combining heat and pressure on the sheet metal. Metal thickness is changed in its composition. The metal sheet is drawn through male and female roller dies, producing pattern on metal sheet. The level of the image is raised higher than substrate by ironing the combination of heat and pressure to make the image smooth. In most pressure embossing machines, the upper roll blocks are stationary, while bottom roll blocks are movable. Many embossing machines are custom-manufactured. You may find embossing machines producing patterns less than 6” wide upto machines producing pattern 70”+ wide.

Sheet Metal is available in flat pieces or coiled strips. Coils are formed by running a continous sheet of metal through a roll slitter. Thickness of Sheet Metal is specified by a non-linear measure guage. The larger the guage number, the thinner the metal is. Commonly used sheet metal ranges from 30 guage to 7 guage. Sheet Metal die is used to cut and form sheet metal into desired shapes and profiles.
