It is used to remove large particles of dirt and debris. Duplex strainer is a filter built into a fuel, oil or water piping system. The flow path is changed over by manually operated Ball Valve. The clogged screen of one strainer is removed from housing for cleaning and refitted for next cycle. Meanwhile the process fluid passes through standby strainer uninterrupted. These can be easily replaced and have a leak proof design with bubble tight sealing as in the case of ball valves.
