In case of any leakage to earth, core balance transformer senses as unbalance & small signal voltage is generated in secondary winding which is fed to solid state electronic circuit of ELCB. This is amplified and immediately activates the tripping mechanism of the unit. Hence, resulting in switching off and isolating the defective installation.
