Vibrating table
The Vibrating Table produces better concrete Moulds and cylinders by removing entrapped air. It distribute concrete evenly inside the moulds and nearly eliminate the problems of bug holes and air bubbles. General Description and specifications : The Vibrating table is entirely constructed of thick steel. The table top is made of thick mild steel plate and has stops along its edges to prevent moulds from walking off the table during operation. A cross arm adjustable on a vertical rod at the centre of the table is provided to hold the moulds while operating the table. Vee Bee Consistometer
The Veebe consistometer measures the remolding ability of concrete under vibration. The test results reflect the amount of energy required to remold a quantity of concrete under given vibration conditions. The Veebe consistometer is applicable to concrete with slumps less than 2 inches.The apparatus, consists of a metal cylindrical container mounted on a vibrating table, which produces a sinusoidal vibration, a slump cone is placed in the center of the cylinder and filled in the same manner as in the standard slump test. After the slump cone is removed, a clear plastic disk is set atop the fresh concrete. The Veebe table is started and the time for the concrete to remold from the slump cone shape to the shape of the outer cylindrical container is recorded as a measure of consistency. The sliding clear plastic disk facilitates the determination of the end of the test. Universal Automatic Compaction Apparatus
It is a motor driven mechanical compactor useful for soil compaction into 100mm or 150mm dia moulds. Two sets of rammers are provided, one of 2.6kg. And the other of 4.89 kg arranged for 310mm and 450mm fall respectively. For compaction soil into 150mm dia moulds, 100mm face dia rammers having weight of 4.89Kg is used. Where as for 100mm dia moulds, they are of 50mm dia. The rammer assembly is provided with a ratchet and pawl arrangement to lift it from the top of the soil layer. When the rammer reaches the required height the pawl release the rammer, which falls freely on soil surface. The release mechanism is connected by an arm moving up and down which is connected to a reduction gear coupled to the motor through another arm. An automatic blow counter fitted to the compactor is used to set the number of blows. The base plate of the specimen mould is to be fitted to the rotating base plate of the instrument which makes 1/5th revolution per operation. Torsion Testing Machine
A system of loading which causes section of a bar or shaft to rotate about its central longitudinal axis relatively to another such section and which thus produces twist or torsion in the bar, constitutes a torsional load. The load may be composed of forces acting in any direction but the twisting or torsional affect is provided by the couples formed by these forces in planes normal to the central axis. The torsional shearing stresses in circular cross section vary from zero at the axis of the section to a maximum value at the extreme fibres. If no bending is present pure shear exists. Torsion Testing machine Consists of two independent chucks. The twist is communicated through the test piece to the other jaw on which a weighted pendulum is attached. The resistance to deflection of pendulum causes a torque to be applied to the test piece and the angles of deflection of pendulum is the measure of torque. The machine is built for maximum twisting moment at about 50 kgm. It is equipped with jaws for accomo- dating test pieces of 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm size either square or circular with square shoulder.

The wear of tile is measured using a thickness gauge. The Abrasion testing machine consists of a replaceable grinding path fitting on to a disc rotating its vertical axis.
