The ELMECH reduction gearboxes of this series are built according to modern criteria in a compact form. Both the gearboxes for co-rotating and for counter-rotating twin-shaft extruders consist of a primary reduction gear unit and a distribution gear unit. which are linked by means of a thrust-bearing housing and by a pressure flange that absorb the axial thrust coming from the extruder. Housing :The housing is made of high-quality cast-iron or fabricated from electro-welded steel. Gears : The gears of the primary reducer unit are made of case-steel of the 18NiCrMo5 type and have a helical teeth. The profile is ground with a higher quality to ensure lowest noise level and efficient use. The shaft and the toothed wheels of the distribution gear unit are made of high-quality special steel with excellent tensile strength.Bearings : The gearboxes of this series are provided with cylindrical roller bearings of reputed makers and considerable size. The thrust bearings are of the axial self aligning roller type of the 294... E series. They are coupled with bearing packages. Lubrication : A combined splash and forced spray lubrication system guarantees optimal lubrication, even in unfavourable environmental conditions, best heat elimination and low losses. plash and forced spray lubrication with integrated oil reservoir for emergency running properties. Extruder Gearboxes in double reduction parallel shaft horizontal and vertical models are intended to satisfy characteristic requirements and conditions encountered in single screw extrusion process. The gear units are quite capable to transmit the high torque required for pressurising and plasticising moulding materials. They can also absorb the high axial thrust through built-in spherical roller thrust bearing. A separate critically designed axial bearing housing accommodate thrust bearings of different sizes according to application loads. The hollow output shafts mounted with the different thrust bearings have different bores to accommodate the thrust screw. The units can be offered in Left hand or Right hand configurations with horizontal and vertical mounting to meet specific mounting needs.     The modular design of GHE Series gearboxes offer a great range of flexibility in the interchangeability of parts.

Like oil leakage, over heating, noise, wear & tear of bronze worm wheel, etc... In addition to that this gear box requires separate bearing bousing to withstand thrust load of screw. To over come this problem we have launched specially developed helical gear box with in-built thurst bearing, which gives you following advantages. No need for separate thrust housing & bearing. Easy alignment (screw directly fits into the vore of gear box) Easy to assemble & dismantle. Very heavy duty spherical roller thrust bearing is used. Cost saving. Power saving. (you may save up to 20 % power.) Less requirement of space. For bigger sizes water cooling is provided for better efficiency of gear box. No maintenance required except periodic oil level checking. Higher productivity compare to worm reducer. Gear Body : It is made of close grain cast iron, Which is absolutely dust proof & oil tight. Gear : Gears are Helical type-made of case iron, hardened alloy steel, Gear teeth are hobbed and profile ground for smooth & silent running. Oil Seals : Silicon oil seals are used to resist very high temperature resulting from the heaters on the barrel. Bearings : In addition to thrust bearing taper roller bearings of ample capacity are used to withstand thrust and radial loads. Lubrication : Lubrication is done by splash of oil, no separate care is required except periodic checking of oil level. - Use proper grade of gear oil only. - Change first filling of oil after two months of operation and then after every six months. Cooling : For KGT 125 & higher size, In addition to natural cooling, water cooling coil is given as standard fitment to imporve hea dissipation & efficiency.
