Do's.. Regularly top up with battery grade water upto required level. Keep the battery top clean and dry. Carry out periodic equalizing charge on the battery as specified. Remove sulphation from battery terminals by using hot water only and smear contact points with dry cloth. Always keep the vent plugs closed except during charging. Battery charging area should be well ventilated. Don't.. Never top up cells with acid. Avoid naked flames, sparks and smoking near a battery. Do not use non-insulated tools while working on batteries. Do not use grease on battery. Do not keep charged on battery under direct sunlight or a heated place. Do not use tap water, only use demineralized water.
