Power Magnetronics make drum type magnetic separators are designed for the continuous extraction of ferrous materials from a product being fed uniformly on to the face of the drum. As the material is fed onto the drum, ferrous materials are extracted and are firmly held to the drum face by the magnetic separator until they move away from the magnets influence and discharge, leaving any non-ferrous materials to free fall. Permanent Drums have a 180-degree stationary magnet system within a revolving cover. The magnet system is constructed using fully stabilized strontium ferrite permanent magnets. The magnets are mounted on to heavy-duty backplates, to optimize the magnetic strength directed at the product stream. This not only enhances the performance of the drum but also reduces the magnetic fields in the shaft and bearings, helping to extend their service life.

Power Magnetronics make magnetic drum pulley operates as head pulley on belt conveyors. It is specially designed for removing both large and small pieces of iron contaminants from product streams. It is powerful enough to remove tramp iron from heavy flows of bulk materials including bulk and abrasive material. These low cost, self-cleaning magnets remove tramp iron and purify materials conveyed in bulk forms. When Material carried on conveyor enters the magnetic field surrounding the magnetic drum pulley, pieces of ferrous metal in the material are attached to the belt. They are held magnetically against the belt until carried to the other side of the pulley, where the belts take them away from the magnetic field to be discharged. Non-magnetic material falls away from the pulley in normal operation. This cycle of separation is continuous and automatically working. 

The product has hump shape for material flow in the magnetic field and so eliminates or removes iron particles from the material. Hump magnets are used where the flow of material is vertical. Generally, it consist of two plate magnets mounted in an offset housing and opposite sides. As feeding material enters into housing it strikes directly on the face of the first plate magnet, and then travels through the offset angle of the housing and impacts directly on the second plate magnet. This provides dual separation results for high volume, poor flowing materials. The strong magnetic field will attract and hold the iron tramps when material passes through the plate magnet. The Hump takes advantage of the ferrous material density because the heavier metallics are more likely to work their way to the face of the magnet, increasing the probability of capture.
