Cotton Variety GCOT 21 (Non GMO) – certified under NPOP and NOP Standards   GCOT 21 variety released by Anand Agriculture University (AAU) in 1998 has attracted special attention of the farmers, not only in its recommended niches but in other parts of the country as well. At present, this variety has highest acreage in the zone. Anand Deshi Cotton-1 (ADC - 1) released in 2010 has given on an average 1306 kg/ha seed cotton yield against 1035, 1072 and 1202 kg/ha of V 797, G Cot 13 and G Cot 21 respectively, with overall increase of 27.8, 23.4 and 10.0 percent over V 797, G Cot 13 and G Cot 21 respectively, and 25.23, 20.18 and 4.48 % advantage in lint yield in that order. This variety has produced (1640 kg/ha) 39.9, 10.5, 5.8 and 2.8 per cent higher seed cotton yield over check varieties V 797 (1172 kg/ha), G Cot 13 (1484 kg/ha), G Cot 21 (1550 kg/ha) and ADC 1 (1596 kg/ha) respectively.
