The function of the guiding tape is to guide the piston and rod of a hydraulic cylinder and to absorb the Transverse forces which occur, at the same time, metallic contact between the sliding parts of the cylinder, e.g. piston and cylinder barrel of rod and cylinder head, must be prevented.
