SSB interview process is a compulsory stage to be passed by each candidate who wishes to become an officer in Indian Armed Forces. SSB interview is a cycle of different testing activities that ranges more than five days and is directed by three distinct officials for example Interview Officer (IO), a Group Testing Officer (GTO) and a Psychological Officer.

NDA is a national level entrance exam conducted every year. Indian navy invites application for candidates to join Indian Navy as a sailor twice a year. For that it conducts the examination called AA and SSR. It is a non-commissioned level examination for the recruitment of unmarried male candidates for enrolment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA) and Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR).The first phase of the examination is online test and those who pass this will be qualified to go for the next round which is Physical Fitness test. AAs are technically educated for the design of ships and submarines and SSRs are those who work on the naval ship and also act as a helping hand.

The Indian Military Nursing Services is an examination conducted by Directorate General of Medical Services (Indian Army) once a year for the admission to 4 years B.Sc (Nursing) course at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). It is a commissioned level (Officers level) examination applicable for women candidates only. Successful Candidates will get admission in Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Command Hospital Air Force, Command Hospital Bangalore, Lucknow, Kolkata, INHS Asvini & Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi.

CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Examination. Every year UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission conducts CDS examination twice a year for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces. As the name suggests it is a Combined Defence Examination for joining Indian Army, Indian Navy & Indian Airforce as an Officer by the courses carried out by Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Officers training Academy (OTA). Unlike NDA both Male and Female graduates are eligible to sit for the examination.

Indian Air Force conducts examination to Recruit Candidates for their different trades divided as technical - needed to maintain various technical items or machines of Indian Air Force and Non- technical for providing support services to keep these machines well and active twice a year. The technical trade is also termed as ‘X’ group and Non-technical as ‘Y’ group. This X & Y group candidates are called as Airmen or PBOR i.e. Person below officer rank. Male candidates of Science stream in Class 12th i.e. Physics and Mathematics can apply for X group and Male candidates of any stream in 12th class can apply for Y group examination of Indian Air Force.

The AFCAT i.e. Air Force Common Admission Test in its abbreviated form is a commissioned level examination conducted by the IAF (Indian Air Force) twice in a year for the selection of male as well as female officers into all branches of the Indian Air Force except for Medical branch and Dental branch. AFCAT examination is an officer recruitment gateway in three branches of Air Force – Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only), Ground Duty (Technical branch - Permanent & Short Service Commission) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch - Permanent & Short Service Commission).
