The apparatus comprises a thick brass calorimeter approximately 90x65 mm. diameter, a bung with steam inlet and outlet tubes, a felt cover, and a 1100 cm3 tinplate boiler with bung to take the steam tube which a connects to the calorimeter.

Critical Heat Flux Apparatus works as a demonstrative tool to present the method of pool boiling. Our flux apparatus has a test wire enclosed by water of persistent temperature. The surface temperature of the test wire is heated by passing current through it. Due to the temperature different temperatures in the surface and atmosphere, the difference in system are observed till it burns out.

The rods are aluminium, brass, copper, iron and steel and each having a cavity at the end for holding paraffin.
