A knife switch controls the flow of electricity in a circuit & is widely used electrical experiments. It has a hinge that lets a metal lever, or knife, be lifted from or placed in into a slot. The hinge and jaw are affixed to an insulated base, and the knife has an insulated handgrip to hold it.
