CG surge arresters incorporate ZE elements (Zn0 elements) with superior non-linear voltage-current characteristics, high quality and reliability. Metal oxide type surge arresters offer special features inherent in gap-less structure such as quick response to surge voltage, high energy dissipation capability, safe operation, compact lightweight and freedom from pollution. Surge arresters are applied for various systems including substation equipment, rolling stock and power distribution units from 3.3 kV to 1200 kV system. These surge arresters demonstrate excellent protection properties.

Generator Step-up Transformer units are used to increase the voltage of a generator and connect the supply to a bus bar. Generator Transformers are also used to limit the fault level of the generator in case of a fault. Transformers used for these applications are called Generator Step-up Units. These Transformers are designed to operate at near full load.

CG also manufactures Compact Series of Slip Ring Alternators for Agro industries. These alternators have a high Motor Starting Capacity. Due to the use of High Grade Carbon Brush Holder Assembly for these units, the alternators have a longer durability even while operating in continuously adverse conditions.

Single Phase Motors are used in variety of applications in households and small industrial sectors, where three phase power supply is not available. Single Phase motors are classified based on the type of starting mechanism. CG offers a new range of highly reliable and cost-effective small power transformers up to 10 MVA ONAN or 14 MVA ONAF rating with voltages up to 69 kV, 350 MVA BILThe units can be equipped with a de-energized tap changer as well as a load tap changer. The propulsion system consists of Traction Transformer, Power Converter and Traction Motors. All the three products are manufactured by CGL for Indian railways. CG Lighting offers a wide variety of Hot Dip Galvanised Octagonal poles with a sturdy base plate. Our octagonal poles have a galvanising thickness of 80 microns (internally and externally). This protective coating ensures long life of the product and does not require periodic painting.

Available in 750 W to 2250 W in B56 frame, in 2 - pole construction to run on single phase as well as three phase. It has been designed with a rigid foot cum flange in Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) construction. Rugged corrosion resistant sheet metal body suitable for extreme weather conditions and reliable high speed needle operation are specialties of this motor. Customized mountings and designs can also be developed.
