Generally these shafts can transmit much more torques than any other shaft. These spline types can be parallel key spline, involute spline, crowned spline, serrations and helical spline. The advantages of using spline shaft are different types of spline tooth forms allow for stronger drives, the load is equally distributed along the sides of the teeth, it has an ability to accommodate large axial movements between shaft and hub while simultaneously transmitting torque and in helical spline drive the transfer of axial and rotary motion at the same time.
