Mechanical Drive steam turbines range from 100 HP to 25,000 HP, with speeds upto 6500 rpm, and are either condensing or non condensing types. Complete steam turbine compressor packages as well as separate mechanical drive steam turbines, which meet API requirements, are available.

The FLS package includes a hydraulically separate lubrication and lubricating oil dehydration system, a hydraulic fluid supply and conditioning system and common control console in a single. Back pressure turbines can either be single stage or multi-stage which are often used in industrial plants, the turbine serves as a reducing station between boiler and the process steam header. These turbines are of extraction cum back pressure type.

The condensing turbines take high pressure steam, expand it in turbine nozzles and blades, and exhaust it to a condenser at lower than atmospheric pressure. It is principally used when power must be generated with minimum steam consumption. The condensing turbine may also have bleed points (uncontrolled extractions) to satisfy steam demands at medium intermediate pressures.

The geared steam turbine-generator package ranges from 100 to 30,000 KW, 50 or 60 Hz and may be the economical solution customers are looking for. The package consist of an efficient, high speed steam turbine driving a gearbox connected to a four-pole, 50 or 60 Hz generator.
