Metallic Pigmented Gelcoats are a surface coat that provides a cosmetic sheen and improvements to a fiberglass laminate. These are specially formulated polyester resins with pigments to improve the impact resistance against cracking and to produce a tough film on the surface. It is ideal to use pre-pigmented gel coats to minimize any possible problems such as homogeneity, pinholes, wrinkles and colour separation. Colourtech Epoxy Pigments are stable dispersions of dry organic/ inorganic pigment powders in a saturated polymeric plasticizer. They are used for coloring epoxy resins/hardner systems for all epoxy based applications. Epoxies are known for their excellent adhesion, heat resistance, chemical resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and very good electrical insulating properties.   Properties of the pigment : Light Fastness Heat Resistance U.V. Small quantities of pigments can be mixed easily by hand stirring. However for large quantities of pigments, power mixing is essential. As a general rule the epoxy resin should be added to the pigment, with simultaneous stirring. Note that the hardener should be added to the pigmented epoxy at the actual time of use, according to the instructions of the epoxy resin system manufacturer.   Range of Colours : A wide range of colors are manufactured as per our standard color chart.
