The Sub-Boiling still is a distillation unit, to be used in distillation of acids like HCL, HNO3 and H2SO4 from commercial grade to high purity form of acids, for laboratory purposes and to avoid storage contamination. This apparatus can also used for water distillation. The unit is designed in such a fashion that only the surface of the liquid is heated in the tank portion of the unit. And the evaporation takes place and the cold finger will condense the vapor elements and the distilled liquid flows out through out let. The unit is assembled withtwo intrared radiating heaters. The infrared heaters are positioned on both sides of the centrally positioned cooling condenser. It is recommended always to use the variac of dimmerstat for controlling the unit and for the better performance.
