The Basic construction of a tubular heater - it is a helical coil of nickel chromium alloy wire, precisely centered in a metal tube. Surrounding the coil is the best combination of electrical insulator and heat conductor Magnesium Oxide. After the tube is filled with MgO, it is compacted by rolling or swaging. This elongates the tube, thickens the wire and compresses the MgO into rock hard mass. The coil is thus permanently stabilized in the centre of the tube where it will not shift during the bending process; the circular cross section with its even distribution of the forces of expansion offers the best combination of life, thermal conductivity and die-electric strength.

So you had better hang and erect vertically the "U"-shape element. If you need to erect it horizontally, please choose a support of high-temperature insulating materials. The cone-part of the element must extend inside the furnace. At first the fixture of MoSi2 power connector can’t be screwed too tightly. When temperature of the element is going up, please twist it tightly again, so the element is not easily broken.(our suggestion: please choose the specialize power connector provided by our company) The furnace top must be a good function of heat-preservation. In general, the temperature of furnace top can’t be over 300C. The voltage should be low 0.1 between the power connector and the element. In order to avoid radiating heat to pass the connector, the distance is not less than 50mm between the low end of connector and the upside of the ceramic brick. The Dia.6 element can’t be used of 170A for a long time. The Dia.9 element can’t be used of 300A for a long time.

FML Metallic heating elements are composed of two main types of electric resistance alloys with the former composed of ferrous-chromium-aluminum and the latter of Nickel-Chromium, each having their own advantages. The materials is designed to have a higher creep and elongation strengths at elevated temperatures coupled with better surface oxidation properties, which result in extended life of the heating elements. In general Fe-Cr-Al based heating element is superior to Ni-Cr based heating element with respect to performance and life. It is therefore nowadays a standard material choice when it comes to metallic heating elements for the industrial furnace. However, Ni-Cr alloys have a higher hot and creep strength. The specific properties of them are as mentioned below in thetabular column. FML Metallic Heating Elements have the operating lifetime and threshold temperature. When the elements are heated, the oxygen from the atmosphere diffuses and penetrates from the alloy surface to react with the metallic elements and the components of the heating elements. Eventually leading to the corrosion of the element. To prevent the oxidation of the inner part of the element at high temperatures an oxidation layer has to be formed on the surface. These layers must also be thin and adhere to the metal under temperature fluctuations. Considering these aspects the oxide layer formed on Fe-Cr-Al alloys and the Ni-Cr alloys contributes to the much longer operating life of heating elements.FML metallic heating Elements are supplied in the shape of either Wire/Strip as per the customer's requirements.
