It is related to citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) and palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii), two other highly aromatic grasses. Lmongrass is found growing in many regions such as Thailand, India, and Burma where the fresh grass is used in culinary recipes. Lemongrass essential oil is thought to be energetically cleansing and helpful for stressful states of mind.
