Here a non woven ( paper ) fabric band is used as the filter media for the separation of the chips from the coolant / oil that is made to fall over it. The filter paper is stored as a roll on the unit and is pulled out by an endless chain belt on top of which the paper rests, after use of the front portion.   This filter is extensively used on grinding / honing machines for filtering cast iron / aluminium / fine steel particles from coolant, where coolant filtration is critical. Filtration levels of 5 to 40 microns are possible. There is no cleaning of filter needed except change of filter paper roll after a long roll of paper ends. When the paper roll ends, an optional “paper end” signal can be provided to fix a new roll.  We manufacture two types of paper band filters namely : Manual indexing paper band filters: Here the indexing ( linear movement ) of the used paper is done manually using a handle & fresh paper is pulled from the roll. Auto indexing paper band filters: Here the indexing ( linear movement ) of the used paper is done automatically & fresh paper is pulled from the roll.

They are one of the most efficient and cost effective types of dust collectors available and can achieve a collection efficiency of more than 99% for very fine particulates. Mechanical shaking Dust-laden gases enter the bag filter unit and pass through fabric bags that act as filters. The bags can be of woven or felted cotton, synthetic, or glass-fiber material in either a tube or envelope shape. The high efficiency of these collectors is due to the dust cake formed on the surfaces of the bags. The fabric primarily provides a surface on which dust particulates collect through the following four mechanisms: Inertial collection - Dust particles strike the fibers placed perpendicular to the gas-flow direction instead of changing direction with the gas stream. Interception - Particles that do not cross the fluid streamlines come in contact with fibers because of the fiber size. Brownian movement – Sub micrometre particles are diffused, increasing the probability of contact between the particles and collecting surfaces. Electrostatic forces - The presence of an electrostatic charge on the particles and the filter can increase dust capture.

The unfiltered liquid is fed into the filter under positive pressure, where liquid travels in downwards direction and finds its way through opening on sides of the Filter Plates. As the liquid pressure increases, the Filter media holds the foreign particles and allows only clear filtrate to pass through the central channel formed by interlocking pressure cups to the outlet. Filtration is continued until the cake holding capacity of the unit is reached or until the filtrate rate becomes too slow owing to cake resistance.
