A solar-powered pump is a stand-alone system running on electricity generated by photovoltaic panels available from collected sunlight as opposed to grid electricity or diesel run water pumps. The power generated from the Solar Photovoltaic Modules are used to operate the submersible e/surface pump for lifting water from different sources such as open well, tube well, reservoir or river etc,.The operation of solar powered pumps is more economical mainly due to the lower operation and maintenance costs and has less environmental impact than pumps powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE). If the demand of utility is more than electricity generated by solar array, the balance requirement of power will be drawn from the grid.
