Tomatoes As Global Green Company aims to be a world leader in value added fruit and vegetable products, tomatoes have become the latest addition to our product range. In 2012, we strategically decided to take up large scale contract farming of hybrid tomatoes (processing varieties UG-37, UG-157, UG-52, which all have high colour value), to meet the growing demand of tomato paste and tomato paste based sauces in India. Global Green Company has established farmer groups and small cooperatives to ensure the highest standard quality of tomatoes are grown. Once trained we ensure our farmers stay with us year on year. Global Green Company grows tomato produce from the best known tomato growing pockets in the Indian states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh which have the distinct advantage of two growing and harvesting seasons annually. Today Global Green Company is India’s largest hybrid tomato contract farming company and also one of the nation’s largest processers of conventional tomatoes, processing over 20,000 tonnes of fresh fruit last year. Hungary is among the world’s largest operators in the market of sweet corn having the largest acreage in Europe – approximately 37,000 hectares per year. The country’s climatic, topographical and soil characteristics make it suitable for the production of high quality sweet corn. Our division Puszta Konzerv Kft, processes 25,000 tonnes of sweet corn on 1,500 hectares annually, with a 70:30 ratio of super sweet to sweet varieties. Success of production is essentially determined by a variety of agricultural factors. Puszta can pack corn in retail packs (glass jars and cans).

Cherries can either be sweet or sour based on the exact variety. Cherries are indigenous to Europe, Western Asia and parts of North Africa, and have been consumed since prehistoric times. Hungary is the largest exporter of sour cherries in Europe. Hungarian sour cherries are some of the best in the world as they are grown in continental climatic conditions which are most suitable for their production, adding nutritional value and taste. Our factory in Dunakiliti in the north-west of Hungary purchases high quality raw material from producers of four production areas: Ravazd, Agárd, Lake Balaton and Dunavecse. These four excellent sour cherry varieties of so-called �Pándy� type, are bred in Hungary. They are Good Cropper of �rd (��rdi bÅ�termÅ��), Good Cropper of Debrecen (�Debreceni bÅ�termÅ��), Grapy Pándy (�Pándy fürtös�) and Grapy of �jfehértó (��jfehértói fürtös�).

Our processing unit in Dunakiliti buys silverskin onions from producers who have a long tradition of onion production. Specialized in the growth and processing of onions, our farm partners take care of the entire production cycle from seed to harvest, to peeling and packaging. Our onions are grown in mostly light and sandy soil guaranteeing perfect growth of the bulb, which remains completely underground, thus preserving the pearl-white colour of the vegetable. Moreover, since there is little opposition from the soil, the onions take a perfect regular shape and can be harvested quickly. Processing time is a key focus and within 12 hours our onions are harvested, dry-cleaned, and sorted according to size. We guarantee the highest standard of produce quality and food safety by adopting Global G.A.P. and HACCP operating procedures as well as safe delivery. All our onions are grown in Italy and Holland, and are exclusively non-GMO.

Traditionally an American condiment, the perfect relish needs the right mix of spices and blends to deliver exceptional taste and nutritional value. Global Green Company specializes in making high quality relishes, and is by far the largest producer of the product in India. At our Venkatapur facility in India, we have a dedicated line processing more than 5,000 metric tonnes of relish each year. Our relish is grander than the rest, as the gherkins used for processing are grown specifically for relish production, owing to which they are crunchier with discernible vegetable pieces that deliver rich and nutritious taste. Originally a Mexican pepper, jalapeños thrive in a number of soil types and temperatures, though they prefer warmer climates, and adequate water supply. A pH of 4.5 to 7.0 is preferred for growing jalapeños and keeping the soil well drained is essential for keeping jalapeño plants healthy. With favourable climatic and soil conditions in the south of India, a variety of jalapeños are grown in healthy quantities. With one primary harvest season falling between the months of April and May India processes more than 10,000 metric tons of jalapeños each year. Global Green Company, with its stringent quality norms and as per International standards, grows and processes more than 5,000 metric tons of jalapeños. With multi-product packing operations at both facilities, we pack jalapenos (sliced and whole) in retail packs (glass jars and PET), foodservice packs (pouches and tins) and industrial packs (drums and pails).

Hungary is at the southern part of the green pea growing belt in Europe. Our farmers ensure harvest of continuously fresh raw material within the short production cycle of around 30 days based on a carefully and meticulously created periodic sowing plan. A wide range of varieties bred in Hungary and neighbouring countries are available through Global Green Company. The Puszta plant processes 20 varieties of green peas, numbering 3,300 metric tonnes across 500 hectares. Green peas produced at Puszta are available throughout the year, are high in fibre, and have favourable and balanced nutritional profiles consisting of carbohydrates, proteins, and B1-B2 vitamins.

Baby Corn production demand is expanding worldwide, especially in Asia, Africa and South America, although historically and as of today, Asia still has the highest baby corn production and consumption globally. While still a recent development in India, many farmers in different parts of the country are taking up contract farming for baby corn. This is a very highly adapted crop and grows well in a wide range of soil types. Global Green Company, with its expertise in agriculture and processed food, introduced baby corn production to its portfolio of crop production in 2013. Our Oblapura facility in Karnataka, India, currently processes more than 500 metric tons of baby corn in retail packs (glass jars). Global Green Company is the only company in the world that is producing Fair Trade baby corn, which is currently being distributed and sold in Europe.
