Solenoid valve is indigenously designed, developed and manufactured aerospace component by indo electrosat in its manufacturing facility and is used in advanced light helicopters. The solenoid valve is operated: 2-way, 2-position, normally open, at 3000 psi in hydraulic systems with hydraulic fluid mil-h-5606, or equivalent used. The valve is electrically operated to stop hydraulic fluid flow. The valve has an aluminum alloy body containing the valve mechanical components and mounting the electrically operated solenoid. The primary components of the valve are poppet, seat, plunger, spring, and pin. these components are made of corrosion resistant steel (cres). The parts of the solenoid assembly interfacing with the valve are the armature and the pole piece which are also made of cres. The inlet and outlet adapters are metric fittings compatible with titanium systems. All components are designed as per aero standard specifications. The solenoid is a direct current (dc) electrical device rated for continuous duty. When the solenoid is de-energized; the spring forces the plunger against the poppet to open the valve. When the solenoid is energized, the pole piece is magnetically forced against the static armature and the mobile pin. The pin forces the poppet against the seat to stop hydraulic fluid flow.
