    Pipe supports are used to eliminate damage at the pipe crossings caused due to lateral or linear movement of pipes and are ideal for use between pipe & pipe supporting structures or at pipe crossings. They also find usage as structural supports / expansion plates for boilers, pressure vessels, air pre-heaters, electro static precipitators etc. These sliding bearing supports permit unrestricted movement at free end, owing to the changes in temperature or during loading / unloading or due to seismic effect. If the supports are rigid, stress will be developed at the supports & causing major damages to the structure. Pipe / structural supports are generally designed to meet the requirements of BS 5400 standard section 9.1. Rollon bearings design & manufacture the pipe supports / structural supports with ROLLON SLIDEWAY material as the interface material. ROLLON SLIDEWAY is a composite material consisting of PTFE & sintered bronze along with special wear resistant additives. It is a self-lubricating, wear resistant material suitable for temperatures up to 260° c and not effected by weather & most chemicals. We can also supply the sliding supports with interface material in virgin PTFE, graphite or any filled PTFE to suit the customers specification.   FEATURES & BENIFITS ROLLON SLIDEWAY has the lowest coefficient of friction, less than 0.03µ Load bearing capacity of ROLLON SLIDEWAY is higher than any other polymers used for such applications. It compensates for surface irregularities & reduces transmission of impact shock. Chemicals & weather has no effect on ROLLON SLIDEWAY. Moisture absorption is less than 0.01% even under icing condition or immersion. Vibration is damped & allows even distribution of loads. ROLLON SLIDEWAY is abrasion resistant & tend to embed foreign particles without any apparent affect on function or life. There is no stick-slip action The slide bearing can accommodate some misalignment in construction.     Tilted pad thrust bearings are used in rotating machineries with high thrust loading. The thrust load is transferred from a sliding part to a stationary part through hydrodynamic oil films. The tilted pad thrust bearing consists of a series of flat surfaces sliding over stationary tilted pads. The space between the flat surface and the tilted pad is filled by a lubricant that is drawn in due to the sliding motion of the flat surface. The pressure developed in the lubricant in between the sliding surface and the tilted pad counteracts the external load applied to the sliding surface and thus prevents contact between the two surfaces. Integration of the pressure values on the surface of the tilted pad gives the total load on the tilted pad. This total load is used to analyze elastic deformation of the tilted pad. In this model, Reynolds equation is used to calculate the pressure in the film and structural analysis is performed to find the elastic deformation of the tilted pad.
