Mersen offers a wide range of metal graphite brushes, particularly adapted to asynchronous motors with wound rotor. Metal graphite brushes grades are prepared from purified natural graphite and metal powders (copper, silver…); then they are compressed and baked to bring them to the required solidity and cohesion levels.

Mersen offers a wide range of carbographitic and bakelite-graphite brushes for FHP motors. Carbographitic grades are prepared from carbon and coke powders (natural or artificial) agglomerated with appropriate binders to give them good resistance to high temperature and variable loads. Bakelite-graphite grades are made from natural or artificial graphite powders agglomerated with a thermo-hardening resin to give them a high electrical and mechanical resistance power.

Respectively named Polybloc® for the cylindrical design and Hykarb® for the cubic ones, Mersen's heat exchangers are based on Graphilor® 3, the only isostatic ultra-fine graphite. Particularly high resistance to corrosion. Very good temperature resistance. Excellent refractory qualities and mechanical properties.

Mersen offers a wide range of electrographitic brushes, particularly adapted to DC motors (of which globally renowned EG34D grades). Electrographitic grades are prepared from carbon powders and coke; they are then subjected to high temperature thermal treatments (> 2500 °C) to transform the basic amorphous carbon into artificial graphite.
