Spur gears are the simplest, and probably most common, type of gear. Their general form is a cylinder or disk. The teeth project radially, and with these "straight-cut gears", the leading edges of the teeth are aligned parallel to the axis of rotation. These gears can only mesh correctly if they are fitted to parallel axlesWe manufacture durable and highly efficient spur gears upto 150 mm OD & 3.5 module in steel. These are used in Gear Boxes used in Machine Tools, material handling equipment, Gear Pumps etc.They connect parallel shafts, have involute teeth that are parallel to the shaft and can have internal or external teeth. They cause no external thrust between gears. They are inexpensive to manufacture and give lower but satisfactory performance. They are used when shaft rotates in the same plane. The main features of spur gears are dedendum, addendum, flank, and fillet. Dedendum cylinder is a root from where teeth extend, it extends to the tip called the addendum circle.Gears for all applications can be produced to customers' design .

Skiving of Gears is a newly developed process for finishing Spur & Helical Gears after heat treatment. ( upto 60 HRC Hardness). Hobbed gear is recut using special Carbide Hob thereby removing heat treatment distortion.Skiving can be considered as superior alternative method of finishing gears by Shaving. As shaving operation is carried out before heat treatment, distortions caused during Heat Treatment can not be corrected. However, it is possible by Skiving.Skiving can also be cosidered as cost effective alternative to Gear Grinding. Also, it has certain advantages over gear grinding. Generally, during gear grinding, there is risk of burning marks on profile as well as miniature surface cracks which are very difficult to detect. Both these defects are eliminated in skiving.Also, lub oil retaining capacity of skived gears is better than ground gears.Greatest advantage of skiving is finishing of integral pinion on Armature shafts & Gears with shoulders where Gear Grinding is impossible. Skiving is the only solution to finish such components.We have demonstrated this new process to some of our customers who have now changed over from gear grinding to Skiving.DIN 6 Quality is achived on skived gears.
