this is a 2 way, 2 position, solenoid operated, direct acting, poppet directional valve. The valve provides a leak-free closure when de-energized, and allows flow in either direction when energized. Due to poppet style construction the valve has extremely low leakage in closed condition.

A lever operated rotary type directional control valve is generally used for high pressure applications. It works on the shear seal principle which gives good sealing and zero leakage. These valves are used where leak-free closure is required.
