Top Discharge Centrifuge The Manual Top Discharge centrifuge is the basic model of the centrifuge where the filtered cake is manually scooped out by the operator. This centrifuge is the most commonly used type and is also the most economical. Sizes Available: Starting from 12” Dia. up to 60” Diameter. Materials of Construction: SS 316, SS 304, SS904L, Hastelloy & Titanium Coating: Halar (ECTFE), Teflon (PFA), Rubber Lining, FRP Lining Manual Top Discharge Centrifuges are available in the following Designs 1. Partial Lid Opening: In this model the lid of the centrifuge only a portion of the top cover of the centrifuge is opened to scoop out the cake. For complete cleaning of the basket and inner parts of the centrifuge the monitor casing of the centrifuge has to be opened. 2. Full Lid Open: In this variant the top lid of the centrifuge has a large diameter that equals the diameter of the monitor casing. This gives better access to basket inside and outer periphery (except bottom) and full access to the top cover.

Excel Project, Manual Top Discharge type of Centrifuge is the basic type of Centrifuge for solid liquid separation. It contains Basket which is dynamically balanced in which a filter bag is placed which retains the solid within the basket. The discharge of the solid cake is from the top which is done manually. It is a three point suspension under driven centrifuge. The main parts of the Centrifuge are Bearing and Shaft, Basket, Drive and Brake.BEARING AND SHAFT Heavy duty bearing is chosen to withstand vibratory load and centrifugal forces duly fitted in bearing housing. The bearing housing is so designed and filled with grease ensuring long maintenance free performance. The shaft is made up of suitable material and duly balanced independently without the basket for higher accuracy. BASKET The basket is made up of adequate thickness so as to withstand the loads caused by the centrifugal forces developed by material in the basket. It is perforated and duly balanced. The basket bottom is made up of Mild Steel and lined at the inner surface by Rubber or Stainless Steel as required. DRIVE The drive consists of Motor mounted at the basket casing driven through V belt with provision of tensioning the belts. The Centrifuges are fitted with Mechanical Clutch pulley at the motor shaft.BRAKEThe Centrifuge are fitted with external shoe brake with brake liners. Shaft And Bearings: The main shaft is of suitable steel and is amply proportioned to withstand the loads imposed on it by the centrifugal forces caused by all normal uneven distribution of the charge in the basket. The bearings supporting the main shaft are heavy duty ball/roller bearings which have a statistical life of 25000 or more running hours. These bearings are grease lubricated. Grease retainers are fitted to ensure long lubricating intervals. Drive System: The drive system consists of a 415V/3 Ph/50Hz squirrel cage induction TEFC electric motor which drives the basket through V-belts. The motor is mounted at the basket casing (outer drum) and there is provision for tensioning the belts. All models are fitted with Centrifugal clutch pulley at the motor shaft. These clutches are heavy duty types designed specially for centrifuge duties. Brake: ll models are fitted with ferodo-lined hand operated external shoe brakes. All these brakes are heavy duty types designed to bring the loaded basket which has heavy interia to an effective stop in 25 Sec. to 50 Sec. For GMP model we use VFD for brake application also Material Of Construction: This shall normally be M.S. or rubber-lined M.S. or S.S. (AISI 304 or 316) at the contact surface. The range of the cake thickness can be adjusted to avoid material overflow. safety features zero speed interlock the pneumatic cylinder will automatically get engaged with the lid as soon as basket starts rotating and gets disengaged only when it completely stops which will ensure that the lid can be opened only when the basket comes to a complete halt. proximity sensor shall be provided as a safety interlock for the lid / body.
