In case of large furnace transformers instead of radiators oil to water heat exchangers will be provided if specified. The dry type transformers generally confirming to IEC 726 specification or as per standard specification of the customer. These transformers are designed with core material of very low specific losses. This helps to maintain the temperature rise of the core with in specified value.The HV windings are generally with conductors of class H/F insulation&LV winding with H/F class copper conductors or bare copper foils are used and the inter layer insulation is NOMEX paper. The conductors used at the high voltage side will be of NOMEX paper or class H enamel. The active part of the transformers are properly dried in an oven and impregnated under vacuum by using class H/F insulating varnish. The active part is assembled in a suitably designed weather proof enclosure. Standard accessories skid base or wheels, lifting lugs, terminals earth point etc are generally incorporated. Other special features like tap changers, cable boxes, temperature indicators or controllers, anti vibration pads etc are provided if specially included in the order specification. The cooling media is generally mineral oil, Silicone oil or Middle liquid filled transformersare also offered if specified by the customer. ATS has complete facilities to manufacture power transformers up to 20 MVA and the maximum voltage class is 36 KV. The oil filled Power Transformers will be provided with Conservator &detachable type radiators for cooling. Transformers with other IEC specified cooling systems like cooling by fans ( ONAF) and cooling by forced oil ( ONOF) are also designed and manufactured by ATS. The Power transformers are generally provided with On load & off Load tap changers. Off load tap switch always fitted in side the tank with operation handle outside the tank & OLTC will be either on tank type or in tank type based on customer requirement. ATS has also the design capability to design large 33 KV class trailer mounted portable transformer substations complete with primary and secondary side protection and switching devices.
