The tamarind seed husk or the brown outer shell of seed obtained after decortications of roasted seed is also very useful product. After decortications of roasted seed, about 35% of tamarind seed husk is obtained, which is a bye product. At present it is used as fuel & as cattle feed. Tamarind seed husk contains approx. 20 – 22% fiber & 20 – 22% tannins. The tannin can be extracted from tamarind seed husk, which can get good market in lather industry.
