For centuries, bamboo charcoal has been a popular medium component of medicine in Asia, especially Japan, China, Korea, and Taiwan. However, the uses and benefits of this material have become evident to Westerners in recent years. It’s an effective, environmentally friendly deodorizer and purifier with a plethora of additional uses. The Japanese use it regularly for everything from filtering and purifying drinking water to brushing their teeth. The earliest documented use of bamboo charcoal dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Chinese healers used “the black diamond” to for mulate medicines and filter water for tea. The charcoal also “sweetened” the tea by infusing minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. To “activate” bamboo charcoal it is ground into a powder and injected with steam (no other chemicals) and it involves heating bamboo in a kiln at a temperature of 900 to 1000 degrees to create activated bamboo charcoal. This “activation” process increases the surface area twofold. The more surface available the faster the rates of adsorption. The activation processes can double the surface area to a whopping 1,200 square meters (1,435 square yards) per gram. An activated bamboo charcoal has double adsorption abilities, so it holds the substances better than regular charcoal. This means that the powder is able to adsorb a greater volume of bacteria, toxins and micro-particles.

We import Carbon self-lubricating bearings and bushings are available in material grades selected to meet the specified service requirements. We provide standard replacement styles as well as custom-designed parts for specific operating problems. Parts range from simple sleeve bushings to more complex styles incorporating notches, grooves or metal reinforcing sleeves. Materials Carbongraphite grades selected should be compatible both with the fluids being handled and the operating parameters. The typical materials used are from our Groups A, C, E, and F grades. Group C and Group F grades are used in general purpose applications. Group A grades are resin-impregnated for chemical applications. Group E grades are metal-impregnated for improved heat dissipation, wear and strength characteristics. Depending on the application, various types of metal-impregnated carbongraphite can be used. For higher operating temperatures, Group B grades with an an oxidation inhibitor are used.
