These transducers are available in two unique styles; buyers can acquire them as per their requirements. We provide customized solutions, at cost effective prices. Details : Melt Pressure Sensors are utilized in a wide variety of industries, including polymer, food, medical, and chemical extrusion processing applications. Melt Pressure Sensors are available in two unique Styles. The CT style is the classic melt pressure sensor with a 6" rigid stem and 18" of flex capillary for optimum thermal isolation. The RT style offers only a 6" rigid stem. Both styles come standard with the 6-pin Bendix style bayonet connector, and a 1/2-20 UNF mounting thread. Our Melt Pressure Sensors are fully interchangeable with all other major brands Melt Pressure TransducerDescription : The Melt Pressure Transducer is ideal for general purpose Melt pressure applications. The unit features the industry standard 3.33 mV/Volt output and offers pin-to-pin compatibility with all competitors models utilizing the Bendix style 6 pin bayonet connector. The Melt Pressure Transducer comes standard with a 6" rigid stem, 18" of flexible capillary, and a 1/2-20 UNF thread for mounting in standard transducer mounting holes.Melt Pressure Transducers are measuring instruments that are subject to damage if mishandled, improperly installedor dropped.Features : 3.33 mV/Volt full scale output Accuracy +/- 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.1% Internal 80% shunt calibration Melt Pressure Transducer All welded all stainless steel construction Melt Pressure Transducer Diaphragm : The Melt Pressure Transducer is a sealed system. The sensing diaphragm is the most important component of the transducer. The standard diaphragm is of a one piece construction, machined from type 15-5PH stainless steel, with a proprietary coating designed to increase durability. It has a nominal thickness of 0.0050 inches. If the sensingdiaphragm becomes damaged in any way i.e.: dented, gouged or deformed, the transducer will no longer provide accurate readings and should be returned to for repair and/or replacement. See the repair and re-calibration information in the Technical section of our website for further details. Melt Pressure Transducer Mounting Hole : A poorly prepared or machined transducer mounting hole is one of the main causes of damage to the transducer. Extruder barrel wear should be monitored periodically. As the extruder barrel wears, the transducer diaphragm will move closer and closer to the barrel bore until it is flush with the sidewalls. Once the diaphragm is flush with the extruder barrel, it will wear at the same rate as the extruder barrel. To alleviate this problem, recommends that the transducer be recessed 0.0175" from the barrel bore. A copper spacer can be manufactured or purchased (to seal on the 45 degree seating surface) that will act as a separator backing off the transducer diaphragm from the inside barrel bore. If the transducer diaphragm protrudes into the extruder barrel, it is subject to unnecessary rapid wear and is subject to permanent damage by a passing screw flight. Melt Pressure Transducer Mounting Hole Threads : The transducer mounting threads should be 1/2-20UNF-2B. M18, M22, ¾ The mounting hole should be cleaned and inspected prior to the installation or reinstallation of a transducer. The use of a high temperature anti-seize compound will help in prevent galling and will allow easy removal of the transducer. Copper graphite anti-seize compounds are recommended. Melt Pressure Transducer Mounting Torque : Melt Pressure Transducers are capable of being installed at a mounting torque of up to 500 inch/pounds without damage or zero shifts; an adequate seal is generally achieved with a mounting torque of 100-200 inch/pounds. This can be accomplished by first installing finger tight and then tightening the transducer a quarter turn with a wrench. Excessive mounting torque will cause seizing and make the transducer difficult to remove. Melt Pressure Transducer Operating Temperatures : The Melt Pressure Transducer diaphragm is capable of operating at temperatures up to 750oF. The transducer electronics are capable of operating at temperatures of up to 150oF. It is important that the electronic housing not be exposed to temperatures above 150oF. Melt Pressure Transducer Affects of Cold Starts : One of the most common causes of Melt Pressure Transducer diaphragm damage is cold starts. A combined temperature and pressure transducer can be used to insure that the extruder barrel is up to temperature prior to the rotation of the extruder screw. Melt Pressure Transducer Removal or Replacement : The transducer should only be removed or replaced while the machine is at operating temperature and the polymer is liquid. Removing the transducer from a cold extruder will cause diaphragm damage due to polymer adhesion. A transducer should never be installed into a mounting hole where there is the presence of solid polymer. If the diaphragm is forced against a solid, the transducer can easily be overloaded and left with a very high zero offset, often too high to be rezeroed. Melt Pressure Transducer Diaphragm : If the transducer is removed warm from the machine, the diaphragm can be easily be cleaned with a soft cloth. If there is solid polymer present, a fluidized bed cleaning system can be used. Never use a wire brush, knife, or torch to clean the tip of a transducer.

Differential pressure transducers, while similar to standard pressure transmitters, focus on measuring the difference in pressure between two points in a fluid or gas system. They don't provide absolute pressure readings but rather the variation between two pressures. Here's a breakdown of their typical specifications: General Specifications · Differential Pressure Range: This specifies the range of pressure difference the transducer can measure (e.g., ±100 Pa, -10 to +10 bar). · Accuracy: Expressed as a percentage of full scale (%FS) similar to standard transmitters. Typical accuracy for good quality models is ±0.5%FS to ±2%FS. · Output Signal: The most common output signal is a 4-20mA current loop, but 0-5V or 0-10V voltage outputs can also be found. · Supply Voltage: The voltage required to power the transducer (typically 24VDC). · Performance Specifications · Temperature Limits: The operating temperature range the transducer can withstand. · Static Pressure Rating: The maximum pressure each individual input port can handle without damage (important because differential transducers have two pressure inputs). This can be higher than the differential pressure range. · Proof Pressure: The maximum overall pressure the transducer can withstand without permanent damage (typically 1.5 to 2 times the upper limit of the differential pressure range). · Burst Pressure: The pressure that will cause catastrophic failure (typically 4 times the upper limit of the differential pressure range). · Response Time: The time it takes for the output to respond to a change in pressure difference (usually in milliseconds). Environmental Specifications · Ingress Protection (IP rating): Similar to other transmitters, this rating indicates the level of protection against dust and water ingress (e.g., IP65 for dust tight and water jets). · Material of Construction: The materials used in wetted parts (those coming into contact with the process fluid) are crucial. Common materials include stainless steel, Hastelloy C, and Monel. Additional Features · Media Compatibility: The type of fluids or gases the transducer is compatible with, considering factors like corrosiveness. · Communication Protocol (Optional): Some advanced models offer communication protocols like HART for remote configuration and diagnostics. · Display (Optional): Some transducers may have a built-in display for local pressure difference reading. · Calibration: Calibration is necessary to ensure accuracy. Some models offer features like zero and span adjustments for easier calibration. Factors to Consider When Selecting a Differential Pressure Transducer · Process Connections: The type of fitting used for connecting the transducer to the two pressure points (e.g., NPT, flange). · Electrical Connections: The type of electrical connector for power and output signal. · Fluid Compatibility: Ensure the materials and media compatibility specifications match the fluids in your application. By understanding these differential pressure transducer specifications and additional factors, you can select a suitable model for your specific application that requires measuring pressure differences in liquids or gases.
