A Gate Valve, or Sluice Valve, is operated by turning a handwheel, this handwheel is located on a threaded stem or spindle (Rising or Non Rising) this stem can be located inside or out side (inside / outside screw) the main valve body. This stem connects to a wedge closure device. On operation the wedge is lifted in or out of the path of the fluid (Seawater). When fully open, the gate valve has no obstruction in the flow path. Gate valves should not be used for regulating (throttling) the flow of liquids having been designed to be fully opened or closed. Construction : Valve Seal is provided with double construction of 100% PTFE core with spiral wrapping of PTFE tape. Application : The core fills all voids and confirms to uneven spindles and flanges while the spiral wrapping of PTFE tape prevents extrusion at both ends of the spindle. Valve Seal is chemically inert, self-lubricating and does not adhere or harden on use. It is widely recommended for use on valves in various industries for obtaining practically Zero Leakage. Can also be used in place of gasket in flanged joint.

Our boards are manufactured from specially selected asbestos fiber and cement formed into fully compressed boards under high pressure. Mechanically strong, these boards possess good arc and heat resisting characteristics. In view of the relatively high water absorption, where these boards are used in situation in which water absorption, where these boards are used in situations in which they are liable to absorb water, reduction in electrical insulation, which may be severe, should be recognized. Construction : Special Spring like Metal strips are wound with an Asbestos Filler by a special process to assure a leak proof seal. The sealing is done by the Asbestos Filler and the metal strip provides the spring. This combination of metal and soft asbestos Filler piles compresses to its predetermined thickness under bolting pressure and thereby preventing leakage within the limit of its specified pressure and temperature ranges. With the addition of Centering devices, adapt "SPITMAAN" Spiral Wound Gaskets to use on many types of flanges and closures. Materials : Standard materials are type 304 Stainless steel with white Canadian (Chrysotlie) Asbestos Filler.   Hints Of Installation & Maintenance:   When installing a Spiral Wound Gasket, check the dimensions of the Gaskets for use between pipe and pressure vessel flanges. The procedure is as follows:- Measure ID of flange contact face. Measure Gasket ID. If Gasket ID is not 1/8" larger than flange ID, do not use it unless it can be installed perfectly centered. A Spiral Wound Gasket does not have the same feel as other Metallic or Non-Metallic Gaskets during the bolting-up. It's different-because it gives a little bit under each bolt as it is tightened. It is therefore important to tighten the bolts in small steps in proper sequence as shown hereunder. Final tightening must be uniform with each bolt pulling same load. This will guarantee a trouble free joint. If not uniform, the joint may leak-particularly after it has been in hot service. Construction : A packing with a center of hollow silicon core or solid silicon cord braided around by yarn of style 51, 62, 71, 82 & 83. Application : A specially developed packing for use on rotating equipment having excessive shaft deviation. It also reduces shaft / sleeve wear. The center of silicon core / cord gives it strong restoration properties, and exerts back-pressure, resulting in total sealing. This packing is suitable for pumps, reactors, mixers, agitators, etc.  

Rubber Cork is produced from high-grade cork granules specifically selected and mixed with synthetic / natural rubber binders (Neoprene, Nitrile, SBR or Natural). This combines the resilience of rubber with the natural compressibility of cork. Rubber Cork is available in various grades for many applications including automotive, electrical transformers, control gear, switch gear,etc. Every gasketing application requires material that is best suited to that particular pressure, temperature, media and / or environmental factors. Rubberized Cork sheet combines the compressibility of cork with the properties of resilience as well as resistance to mechanical action of rubber. Rubber cork can be a easily bent round sharp corner without cracking. They are strong, flexible and easy to cut and can be used for gaskets even with very narrow borders. The unique cellular structure compresses under pressure and creates a reverse pressure on the restraining forces. This "fight back" is a primary requirement in any good gasket material. Elasticity is particularly important when gaskets are exposed to varying pressure and temperature over long periods of time. Rubber cork retains this elasticity for long periods of time under extreme temperature and liquid immersion conditions. Rubber cork is available in a wide range of different grades. Apart from the standard size of 610 x 915 mm and 915 x 915 mm, we are able to produce made to order sizes to minimize wastages at customers end. PVC water stops are for use in concrete joints subjected to hydrostatic pressures. Construction : An extremely low friction extruded soft and dense packing made from a special grade of PTFE, graphite and high temperature lubricant. Application : This self-lubricating packing has excellent thermal and chemical resistance. It reduces friction to shafts and resists gas permeation.
