Ultrasonic flow meters measure liquids in industrial applications. Because the sensor is clamped on to the outside of the pipe, it is immune to the process compatibility concerns of an in-line flow metering technology. A market leading process measurement device, the Ultrasonic flow meters are designed for applications where a customer is unwilling or unable to cut into the process measurement line to install an in-line meter. Available in configurations for pipe line sizes from DN15 to DN4000 (1/2” to 160”), the clamp-on design offers a cost-effective means of measuring liquid flow through a pipe. With designs that can withstand up to 200˚C (392˚F), this technology is ideal for liquids with limited solids or gas content. Because it mounts on the outside of the pipe, there is no need to worry about material compatibility with the process being measured or the pressure in the pipeline. Flow Clamp-On Ultrasonic flow meter operates using transit time measurement. By measuring the time it takes a sonic signal to travel a known distance with the flow stream and another signal travelling against the flow stream, it determines the velocity of the fluid being measured. With the sonic properties of the fluid and the pipe material factored in, users get an extremely repeatable accuracy on the volumetric flow rate being measured. Because the transmitter can process the signal of one or two sensors, it ensures additional economy and the ability to compare or contrast two flow streams, if required. Non-Contact Radar Level Meter measures distance, level, volume and mass. Based on FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) technology, it provides a more stable measurement than pulse radar and is well suited for agitated process conditions and the most demanding applications. Non-Contact Radar Level Meter can measure the level of a wide range of liquid or granular products on a large variety of installations, including LPG and LNG. The level meter does not require calibration or commissioning when installed and can be applied in agitated process conditions and agitated vessels. The product is available in two versions; the RM70 has its electronics designed specifically for liquids, while the RM60 is meant for powders or granulates. How Does It Work? Based on an FMCW radar signal, the level meter transmits a high frequency signal which increases linearly during the measurement phase. The signal is emitted, reflected on the measuring surface and received with a time delay, t (t=2d/c, where d is the distance to the product surface and c is the speed of light in the gas above the product). For further signal processing, the difference is calculated from the actual transmission frequency and the received frequency and is directly proportional to the distance. The level meter comes with an optional second current output that can be used for displaying measurements such as volume. In addition, it offers a wide variety of open (horn) and closed (drop) antenna configurations that can easily be interchanged by the user.
