Camprofile gaskets are found in industrial power plants and in the primary circuits in nuclear installations. They are ideal for standard pipeline and heat exchanger applications. Used either between flanges or in heat exchanger units in nuclear applications. Non-Asbestos flat flange gaskets are the most typical static gaskets. Non-Asbestos gaskets are made of compressed fibre sheets, graphite, PTFE, mica or rubber sealing materials. Flat-flange gaskets are produced in several different sizes according to standard or customer design. Special type of non-metallic flat flange gaskets are metal eyeleted gaskets, which provide special protection against blowout for the sealing of critical of agressive media. The core of the gasket is usually made of CSF or expanded graphite material, while the U-shaped eyelet is made from different metals.

Use of dissimilar metallic flanges with a conductive gasket material assisted by a suitable electrolyte sets up a galvanic cell, corroding the anodic metal. It is here that the flange insulating kit gasket or insulation kit comes into use protecting pipeline flange corrosion. These insulation kits are also used to electrically isolate flange joints, preventing flow of electrostatic charges along the pipeline.
