Vacuum pumps
Until recently, the majority of brake boosters used the vacuum generated by the internal combustion engine’s intake section. With new engine technologies (e.g. hybrid vehicles, downsizing) or in specific operating conditions (e.g. during the cold startwarm-up phase, driving at extreme altitudes or when using the air-conditioning system), the vacuum produced by the engine is no longer sufficient. Electric vacuum pumps are used to ensure the reliable operation of the brake booster. Aside from the internal combustion engine, modern engine technologies such as those found in electric or hybrid vehicles are not able to build up vacuum pressure. The electric vacuum pump is therefore required to generate an alternative or additional vacuum for these technologies. This additional vacuum pump ensures compliance with the latest safety standards, while reliable running of the braking system, which operates with pneumatic brake boosters, is maintained.

The HELLA Q90 LED is the first work light from the new �Thermo Pro Series�. It features an innovative, thermo-conductive plastic housing, which, coupled with the cooling fins, ensures particularly effective heat dissipation for the four high-power LEDs. Prism light guides are long rod-like light guides made of PMMA or PC with a typical diameter of between 7 and 10 mm. The light guides generate homogeneous linear illumination. Each one is equipped with LEDs at one or both ends. The light from the LEDs is coupled into the light guide via a coupling-in lens, which sends the light onward via total reflection. Part of the light meets the whole length of the back of the light guide, where the prisms are positioned; the prisms then uncouple part of the light from the rod at 90° to its longitudinal axis. This method achieves extremely consistent illumination along the entire rod.

LED REPULSE PRO REVERSING LIGHT
The new LED Repulse and Repulse Pro reversing lights were developed for use as an auxiliary reversing function on trailers. The headlamps feature an extremely compact design. In conjunction with various mounting options, they ensure a high level of flexibility when it comes to installation. One special feature of these lamps is their extremely wide light dispersion. This effectively prevents unlit areas behind and next to the vehicle. The light color measures 5,900 kelvins and is therefore the same as natural daylight. The headlamps have been thoroughly tested according to HELLA standard 67101 and meet the most stringent requirements in terms of weatherproofing and mechanical loads. They also have the IP 6K9K degree of protection, meaning that they are able to withstand high-pressure-cleaning and steam jets.

INDIRECT REFLECTOR
An indirect reflector system is an efficient optical system with �invisible� light sources. It can be placed at any angle (horizontal, vertical or inclined) and equipped with a conventional rigid PCB. The structure of an indirect reflector is determined by the distribution and positioning of the LEDs. A specific section of the reflector is assigned to each LED, and individual sections of the reflector are staggered. The EdgeLight light guide provides a clear signature thanks to its light-radiating edge, and features varying wall thick-ness depending on the function.
