Description A1c Meter & A1c reagents PROCEDURE: Preparation of Hemolysate: To determine HbA1c, a hemolysate must be prepared for each sample: -Dispense 1ml Hemolysis Reagent into tubes labeled: Control, Patients, etc. -Place 20ul of well mixed whole blood into the appropriately labeled lyse reagent tube. -Mix. -Allow to stand for 5 minutes or until complete lysis is evident. Hemolysates may be stored up to 10 days at 2-8°C. To test sample (hemolystae): 1. Dispense Reagent-1 (R1): 150 uL, into the specail patented 'reaction cuvette' 2. Place the cuvette into the 37 0C incubator (optional accessory, strongly recommended) for 5 min or Stand the cuvette at room temperature for 15 minutes 3. Dispense Hemolysate (pre-processed Sample): 4 uL, into the cuvette 4. Insert Magnetic Card into the machine for multi-point auto-calibration 5. Place cuvette with R1 and Sample into the cuvette holder (~7 sec Onboard AutoMix) Mixing will be followed by inbuilt process of incubation for 30 sec 6. Dispense Reagent-2 (R2) 50 uL, into the cuvette, preferably using the switch micropipette with sensor (optional accessory) with sensor (~7 sec On-board AutoMix) If not using the the switch micropipette with sensor, CONFIRM so that the auto-mixing takes place on board. 7.
