Rust Preventive Oil
Frank Rust Preventive Oils are solvent deposited water displacing type. Most of the oils can be applied directly to water wet metal surfaces whereby they displace water leaving a protective film. They can be applied either by dipping or by spraying. Oil layer can be removed by soaking in solvent like kerosene / mineral turpentine oil or by alkaline degreasing or solvent degreasing Frank clean R.P.grade. Rust Tech 1901, WD1902 and WD 1904 comply to IS:1154 specification and Rustech 116B Complies to IS:1674 specification. FRANK RUSTECH WD 1901: This is intended for severe conditions and leaves a greasy film, resistant to handling and giving excellent protection. Can be used for protection during storage of valuable machine tools and as a final protective for tools and machined components. FRANK RUSTECH WD 1902: This grade gives a soft, tacky, oily film with excellent mechanical strength which can withstand further handling . Can be used for products of high degree of finish in manufacturing of machine tools, fasteners strips etc. , providing excellent resistance to salt spray and hence can be used on components to be freighted by sea. FRANK RUST TECH WD 1904: This oil is used for items/components/ fasteners which are to be immediately wrapped by wax paper. Can also be used in inter operational protective for removal of soluable oil. FRANK RUST TECH WD 1908: This grade is a excellent dewatering fluid leaves a very thin oily film with little protective properties. Suitable for non ferrous metals like aluminium, aluminium alloys and brass to displace water and prevent tarnishing. Oil film can easily be removed by wiping. FRANK RUSTECH WD 1950: This is a water displacing type fluid to apply on metal surfaces to displace water. In short this is not providing any protective film. This dewatering fluid is to be applied by dipping. FRANK RUST TECH WDX 130: It gives very thin film which has very good rust preventive properties. Can be used for inter operational protection, live mechanism, gauges, micrometers, bright steel components and finished packing of bearings providing reasonable protection for indoor and outdoor. FRANK RUST TECH WDX 132: This grade is a solvent based water displacing fluid suitable for severe environmental conditions and long term protection. Suitable for treatment prior to storage of machine tools, cam shafts, crank shafts, circular saws, large gear, exposed sliding surfaces lathe blades etc. Providing indoor and outdoor protection. FRANK RUSTECH 116B: This provides water displacing heavy soft tacky film for protection on steel tubes, bars, wires , bare sheetings, wheel rings, auto parts and machined components. Protective film can be removed by wiping with rags soaked in solvents or a by alkaline degreasing. FRANK RUST TECH 114: This grade provides a hard yellow / red transparent varnish like tacking film. This oil dries in 30-40 minutes and fully in 8-10 hrs. Suitable for protection of cam shaft, crank shaft, cylinder liners, shackle pins, piston pins, gears, springs, taps, dies nuts and screws, hand tool, steel Rod and bar etc.

...moreQuenching Oil
Quenching oil designed for rapid or controlled cooling of steels or metals as part of hardening, tempering or other heat-treatment process. Quenching oil serves two primary functions. It facilitates hardening of steels by controlling heat transfer during quenching and it enhances wetting of steel during quenching to minimize the formation of undesirable thermal and transformational gradients which may lead to increased distortion and cracking. Quenching oils has a major advantage of a higher boiling range of 230°C to 480°C. This causes the slower corrective cooling stage to start sooner, enabling the release of transformation stresses which is the major problem with water cooling. Oil is, therefore, able to quench intricate shapes and high hardenability alloys successfully. FRANK QUENCH FQ1: Frank quench FQ1 is a high-quality quenching oil developed for general purpose metal quenching operation. It is formulated from specially selected high viscosity wider base stocks having good oxidation stability, good fluidity and low volatility. The Polar additive used in the formation of this oil imparts accelerated quenching characteristics to the product. FRANK QUENCH FQ 11: Frank quench FQ11 is a high-quality oil developed for general purpose metal quenching operations. This oil formulated from specially selected, highly refined, thermally stable, high viscosity index base stocks, having good oxidation stability , good fluidity and low volatility. FRANK QUENCH FQ 132: Frank quench FQ132 is a low viscosity accelerated quenching oil of exceptionally high quality. This oil is blended from selected low sulphur base stocks having excellent oxidation and thermal stability, high fluidity and low volatility. The accelerated quenching characteristics of the product are imparted by a special additive package used in the formulations. FRANK QUENCH FQ 1179: Frank quench FQ 1179 is a non-flammable polymer quenching oil. They are liquid organic polymers fortified with rust inhibitor, biocide package and defoamers. It can be diluted with water to prepare the desired concentration. This has a unique property of polymer separation around 74°C when heated. This separation and deposition of the film on the hot surface or parts, control the cooling rate. The rate of agitation, the temperature of the bath are the other factors which influences the cooling rate.

...moreNitriding Salts
FRANK ECONOMISER must not be used on baths. Salt bath nitriding/liquid nitriding advantages include active case hardening process ( Compound zone), additional lubricity, improved aesthetics. Dimensional stability or processed parts does not change and core properties are uncompromised. Salt bath Nitriding/ Liquid Nitriding can be performed on through hardening steel. This yields the benefit of through hardening in addition to a harder surface. This can be up to 75RC depending on the material. Subjacent to the compound zone is another distinctive region the diffusion zone. This evolves from Progressive diffusion of the nitrogen, and consists of a solid solution of Nitrogen in the base material. The diffusion zone distributes another critical benefit of salt bath nitriding: Substantial enhancement of fatigue strength, typically between 20% to 100%.
