      Mycron Air Tech make Powder containment booths are used to control the hazardous emissions of powders, dust or vapors during powder dispensing, product sampling, or bag dispensing, etc., without risk to the operator or environment.The downdraught prevents airborne dusts caused by weighing and dispensing operations rising into the operator's breathing zone. The air forced downwards is extracted at low level into the booth's filtration system where dust particles are contained at each level of filtration prior to being re-circulated back into the booths air stream. The Powder Dispensing/ Sampling Booths are designed to give mixed air flow stream for product, operator and environmental protection and used to control the hazardous emissions of dust powder during powder dispensing / sampling process. 0.3 micron downward air stream deflects air-borne dust away from the operator breathing zone which is caused in handling operation. Dust particle available is being filtered at three levels of filtration prior to being circulated back to the booths air stream. These pores are highly adsorbent, forming a strong chemical bond/attraction to odorous, gaseous, and liquid contaminates, especially organic chemicals/compounds. Activated Carbon Filter Facts Activated carbon air filters trap odors and chemicals in highly absorbent granules (or pores), which look like a hard scrub brush. Activated carbon is a charcoal that is treated with oxygen in order to open up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, resulting in a highly adsorbent material. Activated carbon filters were found to removed 60-70% of airborne ozone compared to filters without activated carbon. These filters removed harmful VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) by 60-80%, and formaldehyde by 25-30%. According to a report released by the Centers of Disease Control, Dept. of Health and Human Services, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, activated carbon is an excellent absorber of most organic chemicals.

Air showers are generally constructed from clean room compatible steel or plastic materials and feature electronically powered blowers, filters and high-pressure jet nozzles. The latter being incorporated into the walls and ceiling of the chamber. Air at velocities of 3,000 to 7,000 feet-per-minute (FPM), continuously streams from the jet nozzles for 20-40 seconds effectively removing loose particulate matter. Personnel inside the enclosure will lift their arms and turn their bodies for uniform exposure to the air streams. A procedure usually specified in protocol. Air currents from the jets create shearing and flapping forces which lift and remove contaminants from both flat surfaces and the creases of garments.
