Molex is a leading contributor with the SFF Committee and is actively developing prototype halogen-free and lead-free SAS-3 backplane interconnect solutions to meet the demands of high-speed enterprise storage and device manufacturers. These SAS-3 backplane SMT connectors retain existing SFF footprints while increasing data transmission speed to 12 Gbps to meet high Signal Integrity (SI) requirements. Molex has also released U.2 (SASPCIe) right-angle plugs and vertical host receptacles that meet 12 Gbps SAS and 8 GTs U.2 (PCI Express) speeds suitable for Solid State Drive (SSD) applications.
