The rain test chambers simulates rain/water as per IEC-60529, IS-900 part XVI-1983 and JIS-D 0203-1976 standards, whereas as the characteristic water flow patterns are as per IPX1-IPX6 and R1, R2, S1 & S2. ARC-IPX1-2-577 In a stainless steel housing a drip tank is placed on over it. The drip tank is made of multiple drip nozzles through which the water flows at the rate of 1mm/min and 3mm/min. The flow rate can be controlled through a flow meter and a valve. A pump is used to fill the drip tank, which cuts off automatically after the tank fills up. The chamber also comes with optional accessories such as a tilting test table placed at the center of the cabinet. The unit under test is fixed on the rotating table for the uniform distribution of water on all sides. An enclosure of Acrylic and Aluminum is also provided on demand. ARC-IPX3-4-800 The specimen is placed at the centre of the semicircle formed by the oscillating tube which has a radius of 800 mm. Water is then sprayed on the specimen at a defined pressure to test any leakage. A total of 33 number of open holes are provided with a total flow rate of 2.3 l/min to test as per IPX3 whereas as per IPX4, 50 number of open holes are provided with a total flow rate of 3.5 l/min. Even the oscillating tube (which also has spray holes in it) according to IPX3 moves between 60o & 120o across the specimen while it covers 180o as per IPX4. ARC-IPX3-4-S The modular design offers a hand held brass shower nozzle with a flow rate of 10 l/min and a variable pressure of 50kPa – 150kPa. It also includes two connectors that are positioned at 60o and 180o and directed towards the specimen. The specimen is kept on a tilting test table, which is placed at the center of the cabinet. The unit under test is fixed on the rotating table for the uniform distribution of water on all sides. ARC-IPX5-6 For IPX5 requirements, a 6.3 mm jet spray nozzle is provided which sprays water at a flow rate of 12.5 l/min +/- 5%. The core of substantial stream is approximately 40 mm in diameter and is kept at a distance of 2500mm to 3000mm from the test table. A pressure gauge, ball valve and connecting hose are equipped with the set up. On the side, for the IPX6 test requirements a 12.5mm Jet Spray Nozzle with a flow rate of 100 l/min +/- 5% is provided. The core of substantial stream is approximately 120 mm in diameter is kept at the distance of 2500mm to 3000mm from the test table. For both, a pressure gauge, ball valve and connecting hose will be provided. ARC-IPX9K In this construction 4 jet nozzles are provided with solenoid control, change over relays and logic control that is fed with water at a temperature of 80°C water and a pressure of 8–10 Mpa (80–100 bar). The water flows at the flow rate of 14–16 l/min. It should be noted that the nozzles should be held at 10 cm –15 cm from the specimen for 30 seconds at different angles of 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°. It also comes with optional accessories such as a tilting test table placed at the center of the cabinet. The unit under test is fixed on the rotating table for the uniform distribution of water on all sides. An enclosure of Acrylic and Aluminum is also provided on demand. ARC-JIS The nozzle shaft is fixed at an angle of 45 degree on the topside of the panel chamber. It is equipped with a rain simulation arm and a spray nozzle arm made of stainless steel. Nozzles are kept at right angles from each other and are connected to the nozzle shaft, which are connected to a rotary joint and driven by a geared motor. A centrifugal water pump, flow meter with control valve and pressure gauge are also provided. The entire set up could also be enclosed in an acrylic and aluminum cabinet with rotating tables on demand. ARC-RTT-500 In this, a rotating test table of 500 mm diameter is kept at the center of the cabinet. The unit under test is fixed on the rotating table for the uniform distribution of water on all sides. The Rotating table also has a provision to tilt upto 15o (as per IPX2).
