Universal-Clamp Terminal Blocks

Industry is moving to smaller and smaller electrical components. Approximately 13 space savings compared to similar product from competitors. Dissimilar conductor materials need to be connected. As a rule, Aluminum and Copper wires do not co-exist very well due to the potential for oxidation and resulting high contact resistance. Molex high-current universal-clamp terminal blocks are designed to safely connect Aluminum and Copper wires due to their isolated, Tin-plated Aluminum contacts and screws. High-voltage, high-current applications require resistance to short circuiting to circumvent increasingly dangerous situations. Molex high-current universal-clamp terminal blocks have been short circuit tested according to the stringent requirements of IEC standard EN 61238-1:2003. This is particularly critical when Aluminum wire is used in power feed line applications. 1000V applications are common in railway systems, photovoltaic (solar) and ships. These terminal blocks are rated to output 1000V; for less-demanding applications, a 600V option is available.
