High frequency insulated gate bi-polar transistor (IGBT) driven converter takes the incoming AC power, measures against the nominal voltage and adds or subtracts voltage at 20 KHz switching frequency to achieve precisely regulated 230 VAC output on real-time basis. This innovative new switching topology is applied whereby PWM is done directly in AC- to-AC switching, without any noticeable harmonic distortion. High Frequency PWM technology ensures silent operation and offers very high efficiency with smaller footprint. The power stage has IGBT chopper control. PWM frequency of 20 KHz ensures silent operation and pure sine wave output. The basic topology is with buck-boost transformer with high primary to secondary ratio for voltage correction of ± 25%. The control voltage is imposed on the primary of this buck-boost transformer. The voltage regulation with help of buck and boost topology is achieved electronically without the step changes in voltage that occur when the system regulates. This task is accomplished through a feedback and a control system implemented by using a micro-controller. The PMW technology based static voltage regulators allow trouble free operation of your electronic equipment over a wide AC input voltage range. They can handle any nature of load, resistive, inductive or regenerative, with equal ease.
