High Rate Solid Contact Clarifier are the most popular clarifiers in field of water treatment. They are preferred more than any other clarifier because they can handle large flow rate and provide better effluent quality outlet than other clarifiers. A typical high rate clarifier is circular in shape, the influent is fed to flash mixer to mix the coagulants. Then influent is transferred in center well where the water is distributed in all the directions. The center well also works as flocculation chamber too as it provided with slow speed mixer and flocculation dosing. Then the influent is distributed through the energy dissipating device in radial pattern. The sludge is continuously driven into the hopper bottom by continuous rating scraper. Preamble Treated waste water is perceived as potential aid valuable resources. Primary Treatment In Primary Treatment the main objectives are to remove suspended solids (SS), floating debris, and grinding course solids, removal of oil & Grease and equalization of flow for uniform loading. By this process shock loading and overloading of subsequent biological treatments are reduced and lead to lower power requirement for aeration. Here we have two chambers flocculation chamber & Solid Clarifier. In flocculation Chamber caustic soda, PAC and Poly Electrolyte is added at Uniform dosing rate and mixed by a mechanical stirrer. Solid Clarifier is used to settle the solid particles from rising up further by parallel plate media provided at the center of the tank with hopper bottom Secondary Treatment The objectives of secondary treatment are to biological treatment system of waste water i.e. To coagulate and remove dissolved organic and inorganic compounds though microorganism. The removal of carbonaceous BOD, the coagulation of non settle able colloidal solids and stabilization of organic matter are accomplished biologically using variety of microorganism, principally aerobic bacteria�s. The microorganisms are used to convert the colloidal and dissolved organic matter into various gases and into cell tissue. Because cell tissue has a specific gravity slightly greater than that of water, the resulting cells can be removed from treated liquid by gravity settling. In treatment, above said process is accomplished by attached growth process in mechanical bio-processor. The aerobic environment is achieved by rotating plastic media by geared motor 2.5 � 3.5 rpm. Programmed death cell chamber contains floating mesh for the attached growth process with hopper bottom. In the Disinfection chamber we add PAC and Chlorine for Precipitation & Disinfection respectively and mixed by a mechanical stirrer. Tertiary Treatment The objectives of tertiary treatment are to further remove suspended and dissolved Compounds remaining after secondary treatment. The water from disinfection chamber is collected in the intermediate tank and is pumped to sand filter and carbon filter respectively. The filtered water will be collected in treated water sump.

A Demineralisation Plant consists of two pressure vessels containing cation and anion exchange resins. Various types of ion exchange resins can be used for both the cation and the anion process, depending on the type of impurities in the water and what the final water is used for.Typically, the cation resin operates in the hydrogen cycle. The cations in the water (i.e. calcium, magnesium and sodium) pass through the cation exchange resin where they are chemically exchanged for hydrogen ions.The water then passes through the anion exchange resin where the anions (i.e. chloride, sulphate, nitrate and bicarbonate) are chemically exchanged for hydroxide ions.The final water from this process consists essentially of hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions, which is the chemical composition of pure water. The simplified demineralisation plant consists of:Composite resin vessels with charge of strong cation and anion resin; control-panel encompassing a conductivity measurement and alarms, etc; acid and caustic injection facility from bulk, semi-bulk or carboy containers.
