Red lentils, also called Masoor dal, are an Indian plant-based legume. They take very little time to be cooked and possess a mild flavor. Red lentils are a healthy legume and are rich in fibre, vitamins and nutrients. Unlike any other lentils, they tend to lose their shape and become mushy when cooked, thus are used to thicken dishes.
