Saffron is an India spice obtained from Saffron crocus flower, commonly called Kesar in India. It is said to be the costliest spice in the world. It appears to be red in colour with a hint of golden pungent stigma which is dried to make the spice. Saffron has a strong aroma with a bitter taste and is said to consist of a powerful antioxidant.
