Legacy
The seed to being a leading multi-variety rice processing company was sown decades earlier, when our visionary founder Shri Maganur Basappa began trading in native pulses. Though he had to overcome a series of setbacks early in his life, he endured them all to become one of the iconic figures in the region. Many of his contemporaries have attributed his success to his inborn grit and zest for life. In fact, Shri Maganur Basappa would have been much more business success but for his societal inclination. A true philanthropist that he was, he was swayed by the mantra: “Give it back to the society”. Along with his business success, he went on to occupy prominent positions. During his illustrious term, he initiated numerous social welfare programs. Today’s some of the best educational and financial institutions were once initiated by him. In a sense, he was a “true dasoi” – the benefactor.
