Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid and is used as an insecticide in both large-scale commercial agricultural applications as well as in consumer products for domestic purposes.

Emamectin benzoate acts on nerve cells to suppress muscle contraction. The insect is paralyzed and stops feeding within hours of ingesting it preventing subsequent crop damage. It is an insecticide with stomach action and should be ingested by the larvae to be most effective. Affected larvae become paralyzed and stop feeding shortly after exposure to Emamectin benzoate 5% SG.
